Today is Remembrance Day here in Canada. In America, it’s called Veteran’s Day.
Being a veteran myself, I am very thankful for all those who have served and are presently serving their country today. I did not want to let this day go by without acknowledging the many sacrifices so many men and women make every day in the service to their countries.
In Canada, armed forces personnel who are killed overseas are flown home to CFB Trenton, then transported along the nicknamed “Highway of Heroes” to the military coroner in Toronto.
It’s along this highway that Canadians line up to pay tribute to our returning heroes.
In recent years, we have paid the high price in Canadian lives while supporting our American partners in Afghanistan. I am very thankful that as a country, Canada remembers and honors our veterans every year with a special day.
Here is a video of a song called, “Highway of Heroes.”
Lest we forget. Claude
